Scoliosis–Kyphosis Correction Surgery

Indications
- Visible spinal deformity due to scoliosis or kyphosis
- Severe back pain or fatigue from imbalance
- Curves affecting lung/heart function
- Progressive scoliosis (especially adolescents with curves >40°)
- Deformity causing aesthetic or psychological concerns
Ideal Patient Profile
- Adolescents (10–18) with progressive curves
- Adults with degenerative scoliosis or kyphosis
- Patients not improving with conservative care (brace, physiotherapy)
- Individuals medically suitable for major surgery
Method
- Under general anesthesia; stabilization with pedicle screws and rods
- Gradual intra-operative correction of the deformity
- Fusion (spinal arthrodesis) performed on the required levels when indicated
- Continuous neuromonitoring to protect neural structures
